What lenders may look at
A credit score is only one part of a lender's assessment. Providers may consider the information in your credit file, recent applications, missed payments, current commitments, income, expenditure, employment and residential history.
Different providers use different criteria. A previous refusal does not prove that every future application will be refused, but repeated applications in a short period may add searches to your file. It is important to give accurate information and understand the type of search before proceeding.
Prepare before you enquire
Choose a monthly budget that leaves room for normal living costs and vehicle running expenses. A deposit or suitable part exchange can reduce the amount of credit requested, but it does not guarantee acceptance.
- Check that your address details are current
- Prepare evidence of income if requested
- Be accurate about existing commitments
- Select a car and payment you can reasonably afford
No approval promises
Our website form is an eligibility enquiry to a credit-broker team. It is not a finance application, approval in principle or soft-search result. If a provider may be suitable, you will be given the relevant information before any later search or application.
The available APR and terms may be higher or lower than the illustration on this site. You should consider the total amount payable, not only whether the monthly payment fits your budget.
